Sight First
Our biggest project. We work in our community by providing eyeglasses to students with families that cannot afford them.We also provide eyeglasses for reuse in other countries. In addition, several Lions are trained in vision screenings for preschoolers. These tests are given at local daycares.
Worldwide, there are over 40 million blind people, a number that is rapidly growing. Lions Club International has declared war on all preventable and reversible (curable) blindness worldwide. Principle causes of blindness include cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, river blindness, vitamin A deficiency and trachoma. Lions Clubs worldwide have raised over $130 million for these causes. More than 2.2 million cataract surgeries have been performed with our help!

Dayton VA Medical Center's Grotto
and Garden Restoration Efforts
Centerville Lions had a guest speaker - the master gardener for the Dayton Veteran Association's Medical Center's Grotto and Gardens restoration efforts. What a piece of history in the Dayton community! Efforts have been underway to restore over 26 acres of gardens, paths and memorials. Centerville Lions were so impressed that they made a donation to help support the purchase of plants.
Christmas Family
Each Christmas season the Centerville Lions "adopt" a local family to brighten their holidays. We purchase gifts for each family member and provide food. Want to help? Email Amy Gephart for more details.
